These General Terms and Conditions apply to your use of VsBCBMBStudy.com and to all services and resources provided through this website. By using the website or booking any service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms.

## 1. Services provided

At present, VsBCBMBStudy.com offers only digital and online resources and services. Currently, the following products and services are available:

- Free downloadable lecture slides based on free online lectures on YouTube (@VsBCBMB). These files are standalone resources and do not require you to watch or subscribe to the YouTube channel, although watching the lectures is recommended for full context.

- Paid, online 1:1 tutoring sessions on specific topics in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology.

- Paid, online 1:1 mentoring sessions for general study-related or career-related support.

- Paid, online “Study Group Support” meetings, for 2–4 participants who are already an established study group at their home institution. One group member must make the booking and is responsible for sharing the meeting link with the other group members (if applicable).

- Paid, online, interactive workshops on a range of study and career-related topics (including, but not limited to, study skills, curriculum planning, presentation planning, and interviewing skills). Each interactive workshop is currently limited to a maximum of 25 participants.

## 2. Introductory meetings

Tutoring, Mentoring, and Study Group Support services each include a mandatory first meeting (“Tutoring – Intro”, “Mentoring – Intro”, or “Study Group Support – Intro”).

This first meeting is offered at a flat discounted rate of NZ$35, US$20, €18

Its purpose is to understand your needs, define the scope of any further meetings, and, where appropriate, plan how ongoing support will be provided.

Introductory meetings for Tutoring, Mentoring, and Study Group Support can be booked only once per new client.

## 3. General booking rules

- You can select an appointment time and complete your booking only after payment has been made.

- Introductory meetings for Tutoring, Mentoring, and Study Group Support can be booked only once per new client.

“New client” refers to a person (or, for Study Group Support, a specific study group) who has not previously purchased an Introductory meeting of the same type.

## 4. Rescheduling, cancellations, and refunds (general rules)

Unless we clearly state otherwise for a specific service, the following policies apply to all paid services:

- Paid Tutoring, Mentoring, and Study Group Support meetings include a 15‑minute grace period for you to join your scheduled appointment. After 15 minutes, the appointment is considered a “no‑show”. Joining late within the grace period does not extend the scheduled end time.

- No‑shows and cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time are not eligible for a full or partial refund. Any request to reschedule in these cases will be treated as a new booking and charged at the normal rate.

- If VsBCBMBStudy.com needs to cancel an appointment, you will be given the choice to either rebook at no extra cost or to request a full refund.

- Where a refund applies, it will usually be processed within 5–7 business days. Refund rights are subject to New Zealand consumer law.

In addition to these general rules, rescheduling, cancellation, and refund options may differ between the paid services offered on VsBCBMBStudy.com.

Any general advice given during sessions or events reflects the facilitator’s professional experience, views, and opinions. While the strategies promoted through VsBCBMBStudy.com have been successful in classroom and advising settings, individual results may vary.

By purchasing paid services, you acknowledge and agree that following any advice given during meetings does not guarantee success or any specific outcome, and that, to the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law, you will not hold VsBCBMBStudy.com liable for any adverse effects arising from the use of our services.

## 6. Intellectual property

All content provided through VsBCBMBStudy.com, including but not limited to lecture slides, handouts, workshop materials, videos, written explanations, and website content, is the intellectual property of VsBCBMBStudy.com (or its content providers).

When you purchase or access our resources or services, you receive a personal, non‑transferable license to use the materials for your own study or professional development only. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, you must not copy, share, distribute, publish, modify, or resell any of our materials, in whole or in part, without our prior written permission, except where allowed by New Zealand law.

Any unauthorized use of our content may result in suspension or termination of access to our services and may lead to further action being taken.

## 7. Client conduct

When using VsBCBMBStudy.com and attending any online sessions, you agree to behave in a respectful, professional manner towards facilitators and other participants. Harassment, discrimination, abusive language, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.

You furthermore agree to NOT make private recordings of any events.

You are responsible for ensuring that any information or materials you share do not infringe the rights of others and do not breach any applicable laws or your institution’s policies.

VsBCBMBStudy.com reserves the right to remove you from a session, refuse future bookings, or terminate services if your conduct is considered inappropriate or unsafe. In serious cases, no refund may be offered, except where required by New Zealand law.

## 8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law, VsBCBMBStudy.com is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profits, or opportunities arising from the use of our website, resources, or services.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with your use of our services is limited to the total amount you have paid to VsBCBMBStudy.com for the relevant service.

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under New Zealand consumer law.
